What does it mean to plead the blood of Jesus? Many think this phrase is unbiblical because it is not found in the bible.
The word “plead” mainly has two meanings: the first meaning is to beg earnestly, the second meaning is to present a state of defense or justification.
The biblical kind of plea has the second meaning: to present a state of defense or justification.
Now I want you to imagine that you are in severe debt. Say you have to pay millions and millions of dollars and there is no way you can clear the debt. You have some pennies in your pocket, but that’d be just a spit in an ocean. When suddenly someone comes along and tells you that he wants to pay your debt. You now accept the offer and the man pays your debt. So that means you are now free from the debt, and you have with you the receipt that you have paid the money. However, sometime later someone comes along and starts accusing you of not paying the money; telling you that you have to go to the jail for not paying it. What will your response be? Obviously, you will present the receipt that will justify you. What happens if you forget about the receipt?
The bible says we have now been JUSTIFIED by His BLOOD… (Romans 5:9). Again the bible says, we are justified FREELY BY HIS GRACE through the redemption* that came by Christ Jesus (Romans 3:24). And that means we are no longer guilty because we have personally accepted free justification** that comes to us as a result of Jesus shedding His blood on the Cross. Your receipt, my friend, is the blood of Christ. This is your plea, when the enemy comes to accuse you.
Has there been a time when the enemy came and started accusing you of the sins you had done in the past? May be the consequences of that sin was still going on in your life, but you had asked God to forgive you. Now the devil comes along and accuses you, “You have sinned. No one could commit such a big sin and not be found guilty. God has not forgiven you. You probably are beyond redemption.”
My friend, have you forgotten the receipt? Jesus paid for your sins, you are no longer guilty. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. How do you overcome this? They overcame him (satan) by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. (Revelation 12:11). You bring out the receipt and say, “His blood has washed me clean, I am justified, sanctified, and made the righteousness of God through the blood of Christ!” This is your testimony! Your plea to freedom! You are not begging for release from accusation, but you are rightfully claiming your release. HalleluYah!
This plea is applicable for every area of your life. Sickness and disease? Yes, He paid for the sickness that has afflicted you, through His blood. Place the blood over the sickness and remind the enemy that healing is rightfully yours. The blood reminds the devil of his defeat on the Cross.
A final exhortation: Do not be moved by feelings. When God said He would forgive you, He never said you would ‘feel’ forgiven. He asked you to appropriate that promise through faith. In the same manner, when you ask for healing, believe you have received the healing, and do not be afraid to declare it. Sometimes, the devil will worsen your condition so as to make you believe a lie that he uses very often, “May be it’s not God’s will for me to be healed”. Do not be influenced by what your physical senses say; instead be influenced by what God has spoken. Remember, the Bible says we are to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
* Redemption: Paying a certain amount to retreive that which was lost. In context, Christ has paid a price to retrieve all that Satan has stolen.
** Justification or to be Justified can be understood this way: “Just-as-if I’d never sinned”

Greetings, I enjoyed your post especially the last part about “feeling” saved. How true. I’ve noticed too that the process of getting saved is the same as getting healed but people will believe, by faith, they’re saved but they’re not so sure about the healed part. We acknowledge the need, accept Jesus’ sacrifice, and receive by faith. It’s the same!
Be blessed and have a great day!
The Lord has truly spoken to you my brother, only God knows what is going on in my life. I just know that God is faithful to us His Children.

How I long to see the day when Christians will be awakened to the reality of what Christ has paid for through his blood shed at Calvary. Satan hates this discussion because we overcome him through the blood.
Thanks a lot. Remain blessed.
