Drop the corn!
“I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that liveth but Christ that liveth in me…”(Galatians 2:20)A preacher went to preach Jesus in Africa. While he was preaching to a group of people, an old man all-excited said, “Oh Jesus, he lived here a number of years back. His tomb is still here in this village”. The old man led the preacher to a graveyard and showed him a tomb. The tomb was that of an evangelist who lived in those areas preaching the gospel.
I believe this evangelist died a good death even before he really died in his body. He had been crucified with Christ so well, that Christ could live in Him. People who saw this evangelist, didn’t see him, but Jesus. Can people look at you and say, “Oh Jesus is alive today.”?
Jesus told us, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”(Luke 9:23)
What is this cross Jesus speaking about here? Many Christians have made their own crosses, when in actuality it was no cross at all. The cross Jesus speaks here is a place where your will and God’s will crosses. What are you going to do at this point? Jesus instructs us to deny ourselves at this point. Carry the cross so that you can die on it daily. Paul practiced this. He said in 1 Corinthians 15:31” I die daily”. Are you dying to yourself daily or are you doing your own thing?
You may be holding onto something in your life, thinking “If I give up this, there would be no meaning to life”. Probably its a degree or a job, or may be your closed ones, your children whom you find hard to let go, or it may also be your favorite TV serial. Whatever it is that you’re holding onto, God’s question to you today is, ” Are you ready to die at this point?”
I would like to call these things that hinder you from God’s best, as a “corn”. Say you have a corn in your hand, and you refuse to give it up thinking of how precious it is. But have you thought what would happen if you’d just drop it down on the ground? You could get a harvest! God never tells you to give up on something or let go unless He wants to bless you more. May be it’s a job that a company is offering you, but you know well within you God’s plan for you is something else. Will you give up that little corn?

who CREATED god?
what was/is his REAL intention?
I don’t know how to explain to you Gods origin(if he has one)either theologically or philosophically. But before getting into a discussion, do you believe that there is a God?
From your question I realize that you [donkeysoup] do believe in God…
To answer your first question “who CREATED god?”, I’ll have to answer the question “Was God created?”. The Bible teaches that God is the Creator of all things and that He has no beginning or end. He lives in the realm that we call as “ETERNITY”. Most people have the wrong knowledge of what “eternity” is; they believe eternity is a very long period of time, when in actuality eternity is outside the realm of time. Time in itself was created for this world. In the book of Revelation, we find an angel of God putting a halt to time.
Now, I don’t claim to know it all, as I am learning and weeding out a lot of wrong notions that was passed down by tradition.

His real intention was and is to love.

thanks Sid for informing me about your reply/discussion here.
even if god is there, i don’t find the qualities of god in that person. my first post at blogspot is on this.
humanism attracts me more than religion. being good need not be religion dependent. if you wish you can be good, without being attached to a specific platform (like religion).
In reply to your comment, religion is a vain attempt of man to reach God. I come from the hindu religion, but when I met with Christ I met with Unconditional Love. Christ did not call me out from hindu religion to the Christian religion, He called me out of all religion to Himself. [In myself I’m a sinful, and wicked person. And the only thing that changed me was His love for me. I am still wicked in many areas, I’m weak in many areas- but I know Him, and how He has given up Himself so that I can be His own.
God doesn’t call the “good” people, He calls the “sinful” and the “helpless” so that He can impart His goodness to them. I have tasted and I know He is real, thats all i can say to you. =)
God bless you,
Sidharth
