Have Dominion…
By Sidharth Mohandas
The Kingdom of God is a very interesting topic and also an important one if we want to operate in the way God has designed us to operate.
Now in a kingdom, while the King is alive, his son who is the prince cannot be King until his dad dies. However, according to Kingdom Rules, there is a possibility for the prince to be the King while his dad is alive and that is if he is sent to another land to have dominion over it.
We must realize that our eternal spirits were with God and in God before He released us from Him into earthen vessels. In other words, before we were revealed in the body, we were hidden in Him. We were in His Kingdom called the Kingdom of heaven, where God’s perfect will came to pass. However, since He wanted us to share in His dominion, He made earthen bodies for us and released us in them. And He said, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” [Genesis 1:26]
God created us to have dominion, to be rulers, to reign on another “land” called the Earth. His purpose was to make man bring His Kingdom upon earth. As man walked on planet earth, the trees, the birds and the cattle looked upon him and said, “Look! The glory of God!” God put upon man His glory and asked them to replenish the earth so that they would cover the earth with His glory. But ever since man sinned and fell short of God’s glory [Romans 3:23], they groan in pain crying, “Where is the glory of the Lord? Where are the children of glory?”. Creation craves to see God’s glory again.
The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. [Romans 8:19]
Now let me remind you again, God’s plan for us in the Kingdom is to have dominion over the earth. Not dominion over people, dominion over the earth and every living thing that creeps on it. In other words, He wants His will on earth as it is in heaven.
Are we as believers operating as we have been designed to operate or are we living weak lives being overcome by problems? Are we bringing God’s Kingdom in our home, our schools, our work places…? The message of God to us: “Have Dominion…”
As always…really challenging!
