The God of Well-being
I have been going through some tough times… I was dejected at a report I heard and was feeling down every now and then. This morning I was reminded of the verse “I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth (recount and tell aloud) all Your marvelous works and wonderful deeds!” [Psalm 9:1, AMP] So I decided to do this…I started looking back at times I faced problems and how the Lord had been faithful even when the problems seemed horrible in my eyes. As I was recounting His wonderful deeds I was reminded of this testimony. Though this is a very simple one… I feel prompted to share with you how the Lord took care of me…
Some weeks back, I had gone to Vellore to get some things done. Half-way through the journey I realized that I had forgotten my University identity card. Now, my University is very strict about this- they don’t even allow you to enter the University without the ID card- needless to mention it’s requirement in the office dealings. My first response was: “Oh no!…”. But then I chose to acknowledge Him, and started to speak His truth to myself and thanked Him for I was His responsibility. As I followed what He said in Philippians 4: 6, verse 7 was fulfilled and the eternal peace started flowing through me like a river. The Hebrew for “peace” as you would know is “shalom” and shalom does not simply mean “peace”, it means “well-being”. Oh, that is so true! He sees to that every day of my life- my well-being. I reached Vellore at 8 AM on Sunday… When I reached the University, I found that they weren’t checking the ID cards! Securities were standing and I was allowed to pass through- I didn’t even need the ID card for any of the dealings! Later I came to know that this was allowed only for a few weeks- until the new students who got admitted in the University this year got their ID cards! Hallelujah!
Though this one is at a small scale [according to our standards], the message contained in it is the same, “He will look after us, and will see to our well-being”. Things seem to crush us and destroy us, but He always rescues us and He is faithful.

Nice testimony. We always have those moments in our lives, but it is up to us to recognize them which you have.
I think of Moses when he asked God, “Show me your glory.” Moses only got to see God’s backside.
