Last night as I lay down on my bed the Holy Spirit brought this verse to my mind… “Consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession…” [Hebrews 3:1]. With this verse in mind He took me to what happened at Massah and Meribah in Exodus 17. And verse 7 tells us “He [Moses] named the place Massah and Meribah because of the quarrel of the sons of Israel, and because they tested the LORD, saying, “Is the LORD among us, or not?”
How did the Israelites test the Lord? They went down on their confession…When they did not have water in the wilderness they started grumbling saying, “Is the LORD among us or not?”. The Holy Spirit goes onto tell us in Hebrews 3:7
Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert
We know the Holy Spirit is referring to Massah and Meribah in the above verse because the same verse in Psalm 95:8 says Harden not your heart, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness
What was the outcome? The Israelites’ confession prevented them from entering the Promised Land. In the same manner, our confession decides whether we will see God’s promises fulfilled in our lives or not.
What is your confession today in your wilderness? If you are facing a financial crisis, are you confessing Him as the Lord who sees and provides? In sickness do you confess Him as your Doctor? When your mind is troubled, do you confess Him as your peace? When facing failures, do you confess Him as your banner of victory? When you feel alone, do you confess that He is with you? Friends, Consider Jesus TODAY…

Amen \o/
Encouraging us to keep looking up to Jesus. Thanks Sidarth.
Thanks brother. This was just what I needed to hear today.
I did a study once on what exactly is the “unbelief” talked about in Hebrews that was the sin of the Israelites in the desert. I came to the conclusion that it was “willful and rebellious” unbelief, as opposed to just doubt.
I also know that there is something to choosing to believe God. There is something to speaking to yourself what is true.
God help me make the paths of my mind the paths of your ways!
