Maybe these areas are our most experienced of the schemes of the enemy. We have all experienced the accusations of the enemy. It is a no brainer actually because the very meaning of the word devil is ‘The Accuser’. No eyebrows raised on this one!!
In Revelation 12:10, John tells us that satan’s main pastime is accusing the brethren. To understand it further, let’s just take a quick visit to a courtroom. You are the defendant, one guy makes blatant lies against you, some of them you have actually done( How did he know that!!!) and there you are all helpless, suddenly an advocate comes in and starts defending you legally acquitting you. Praise be to God, I John 2:1 says we have such an advocate.
Here we will be considering mainly the scheme of accusation. His other schemes like temptation, mockery is a subset of intimidation and deception. Consider then how Christ’s deliverance is the foundation of his deliverance from these works of Satan.
To make this article as short as possible, I will divide it into 3 parts

Examples of accusation
- He tells you (through your thoughts, people around you etc) that you have sinned. He keeps popping up the mistake that you committed again and again and again.
- He tells you that you are worthless, see your past agrees. Flunked in class, flunked in college, flunked at home, flunked every where, what makes you think you will be successful?
- He tries to tell you that God is pretty mad with you, you are going through these things because God wants to teach you a lesson.
- He tells you of the wretch you were… your horrible family history.
- He tells you that no one loves you, and that you are worthless.
- The fact that I have this allergy! Oh thats just me… I had it since I was a baby.
- You don’t have faith. Your walk with the Lord is not right.
Why these are lies
If you take a closer look at the above sentences you will see that there is no element of truth in them
- I John says that If you confess your sin, He is just and faithful to forgive them. His blood was shed for you. YOU ARE JUSTIFIED. Micah 7:19 says that He has even forgotten about them. If the LORD chooses to forget it HOW DARE you still remember it after it has been confessed.
- Philipians says that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
- His mercies are new every morning. God says that he is a God of love. I don’t know about you, but in my dictionary Love does not indicate that God will strike you with sickness to teach you a lesson.
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that if you are in Christ you are a new creation.
- God loves you so much that he inscribed YOUR name on the palm of His hand (Isaiah 49:16). In Jeremiah 29:11 the bible says He has plans for your good future.
- By his stripes I was healed, I don’t carry anything in my body that is not of God.
- Jesus is the author and finisher of my faith. He is at work in my life. Jesus is my way to deeper life.
What do I do?
In the top two paras I have tried to show you very plainly how accusations are a very real experience for all of us. Again when we crosscheck most of these daily meditations we find that they are just lies that the devil used to simply accuse you. Let us just consider the first, have you been in the forgive me loop. After committing something you go at 8:15- Lord forgive me at 8:30 Lord please please forgive me, at 9:00 we cry Looooooord forgive me pleeeeease. 9:15 Loord 9:30 Loooooord have mercy on me…..well the devil just sits back and laughs at you doing that. Get right with the Lord, be truthful to Him, acknowledge that you need Him and get back. When the devil comes with accusation stand fast and resist and he will flee.
Lets summarize…
- Be prepared, don’t be surprised when the devil accuses.
- Know the word, WHO GOD IS AND WHO YOU ARE IN HIM.
- Acknowledge that you have an advocate
- Don’t entertain accusing thoughts.(The Holy Spirit WILL NEVER ACCUSE YOU.)
- Praise God for what He has done, don’t drool about what you cannot do.
- If you are in a situation where you have been crushed by accusations, don’t react rather go to the Lord in prayer, let the Lord rebuke the devil for you.
These messages where the schemes of the enemy in light of you going deeper in God. Remember you overcome not by knowing more of the devil but by knowing more of God!
