“He who is faithful in a very little [thing], is faithful also in much.” [Luke 16:10]
I have heard umpteen number of young Christians who want to do big things for the Lord. They want to go out into the mission field and start preaching to thousands, or launch a Christian band or be on the Television ministry. All well and good, but if you were to look into the lives of many of these Christians at their homes or at their work places, you’d find some lazy, grumpy, mean and unfaithful creeps. Spend the day with them at work [make sure you're invisible] and you’ll find lousy work and full of compromises. Go with them to their homes, you’d find undisciplined, lazy bums. They overlook the importance of being faithful in the little things with the notion that only the big things matter.
Look into your personal life today… How you are at home will show you the real you. Do you scream and shout at your family members? Do you provoke your children and fight with your spouse? Do you disobey your parents or don’t respond to them when they call you to do something? Or how do you respond when you’re engrossed in front of a book, TV or the internet? What about your personal prayer life? How faithful are you in praying for the people you already know?
Scripture says, the manifestations of the Spirit are given for the common good [1 Corinthians 12:7]. Probably you are seeking for great manifestations of the Spirit in your life. But how much do you go out of your way to help others without these supernatural gifts? Or if you do have some or any of the gifts of the Spirit, how effectively are you using them to help others?
Remember, dear friends, God will take you to the next level of anointing or into a greater calling only when you fulfill that which He has already called you to do. It may be something very little or something seemingly insignificant, but when you do it faithfully and with the right attitude, God will bring increase to you!
Do you remember how Saul’s dad, Kish asked Saul to go and find his lost donkeys? [1 Samuel 9:3]. Saul could have resisted and disobeyed his father. But Saul in obedience went seeking for his fathers lost donkeys. And guess what happened on his way to seeking the donkeys? He met with Samuel, the prophet of God, and was anointed as king over Israel! When you obey God in the little things He has revealed to you, He will take you into greater things that He has in store for you.

Agreeing with you.
Peace,
Angie
Sidharth, you should come over to a bulletin board called http://www.prophecyfellowship.org/forumindex.php
I hang out quite a bit in the Prayer & Praise Forum, but also visit the End Time News and other related forums. Good encouragement from other believers there…
This is right on with the world of Christianity. I know even for myself when I first became a Christian, I wanted to do big things! I am still learning that we have to do what we can where we are at the moment, and then God will give us a “promotion”.
Great post, Sidharth.
This reminds me of what our Lord Jesus Christ taught in Luke 16:
“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?”
