Sid, this is the title of my favourite song, 'One Thing' (as you know!). And I think you have put it sooo well...

"However, Jesus was not calling her to fulfill her earthly needs, but was calling her beyond that to partake of Himself. He was telling her that HE HIMSELF was her greatest need. And when she’d have Him, she’d have the Provider, she’d have the Healer, she’d have the Comforter, she’d have the Counselor, she’d have the Shepherd…she would never be in want."

Wow. This is so true. "Is anyone thirsty???"-- the famous question that Jesus shouted out, referring to the dissatifaction within us because of many unfulfilled deep longings in our soul...so, it works out good to be empty and thirsty, yeah? It's good to notice our inability to find worldly satisfaction. And then He promises He can fill our empty cavities...fill us Lord with Your living water!! Fill us we ask!

I'm ashamed to admit that I have to be reminded of this quite often.

Seek first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.

Another great post, Sidhu. Thank you for once again reminding all of us what our focus should be, instead of worldly worries.

Shalom!

We had many words of prophecy in our church last Sunday along these lines. We seek so much from other places and one thing is needed. Jesus. Thank you Sidarth.
