The laundry…

Some months back I was about to go for a meeting and the Lord asked me to wear a shirt that I had already given for laundry. I looked inside the laundry basket and saw that the shirt hadn’t gone for washing. I’m usually very uncomfortable wearing clothes that I have worn once and this one was no exception. I started ironing the shirt, and while I was doing that. I asked the Lord, “Do you really want me to wear this?”. I could sense a smile at the other end, and so I continued with it. Just then I realized that something was inside the pocket of the shirt. I put my hand in and guess what I found? 150 bucks! I couldn’t help but laugh!

Sometimes the Lord tells us to do seemingly foolish stuff, but in the end its always to bless us. Oh how I love His humor! ;)

My Shepherd

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.” (T`hilim / Psalm 23:1-2)

Have you ever thought about David and wondered how a shepherd boy could become a man after G-d’s own heart? A man so strong in spirit that G-d chose him to be king of Israel? I have.

In fact, I asked G-d about it, and He showed me that revelation was what turned David into such a spiritual powerhouse–revelation that came to him through hours of thinking about the things of G-d. I imagine the day he wrote T`hilim / Psalm 23 he was just sitting and singing praises to G-d and meditating on His goodness. Just fellowshipping with Him when suddenly the anointing of the L-rd came upon him and he said, “The L-rd is my Shepherd!”

Suddenly he thought about the sheep he watched over as a boy, I faced death for those sheep. I led them where pastures were green and waters were cool, clean, deep, and peaceful. He kept on meditating on that until it started to thrill him. When the lion and the bear came, didn’t He prepare a table before me in the presence of those enemies? He gave me victory. “My G-d! My G-d will fight for me. The L-rd is my Shepherd! I shall not want!”

That revelation welled up in David so strong that ha`satan/satan couldn’t beat it out of him. So when Goliath tried to make a fool out of Israel, David went after him. Goliath was able to scare off everyone else, but he couldn’t shake David because he had a revelation inside him that said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for my G-d is with me.” That revelation enabled David to say, “I come against you in the name of the L-rd of Hosts” and to send a rock sailing into that giant’s brain.

Is the devil out to destroy you? Do what David did. Meditate on G-d and His Word. Sing praises to your King. Fellowship with Him until the revelation of who He is in you starts to thrill your soul. Then tell ha`satan/satan, “You’re not going to kill me. The L-rd is my Shepherd!” Hit him with the rock of revelation knowledge, and you’ll knock him flat every time.

You belong to Me…

April7

By Sidharth Mohandas

I was in Vellore the previous week… I had gone to present my project work with my project mate. When we reach Vellore, my friend and I took a room in a hotel.

After we presented our project review, my friend left home. We had divided the bill between ourselves, but my friend didn’t have enough money with him, so I paid part of the amount he was to pay as well. However, when the bill came, it was more than we had calculated. After I paid the bill, I was left with just Rs. 5… I thanked the Lord, because that was the exact amount I needed to go from the hotel to the railway station. But immediately this thought came to my mind, “What will I do without food for 15 hours?”. And the Lord replied and said, “When you confessed Me as your Lord, I took complete responsibility over your life. You belong to Me, and I know how to take care of that which is Mine. You’re not helping me by thinking over it.” Fully persuaded I started the journey at 10 in the night. As soon as I got into the train I dosed off. In the morning after I woke up and while I was spending time with Him, He whispered into my ears and said, “Sidhu, open your bag and look into the pocket of your pants”. I opened the bag and slid my hands into the pocket of my pants… it had over Rs 50 in it! Praise the Lord!
