Two eyes and a tongue

By Sidharth Mohandas

When your eyes are good, your WHOLE body also is full of light.
[Luke 11:34]

Jesus tells us here of something that can affect our WHOLE body. It is “when our eyes are good”. The Greek word used for “good” is “aplouv” and it can also be translated as either “single” or “simple”. One of the marvelous things about human eyes unlike many animals is that we have two eyes but by focusing we can form one image. I believe , first and foremost, this verse deals with having a single image. That is, our eyes can be focused to make a single and clear image. I believe many Christians suffer from lack of focus. That is why the spiritual world seems kind of misty, half real to them.

Team member Jonathan was speaking to me the other day about the importance of carrying a vision for Imrah Ministries, and that without a clear vision we’d get no where in fulfilling what God had called us to do. In fact, Scripture goes onto tell us that “where there is no vision, people perish”. Singleness of vision is very important. How focused are you about God’s plan for your family, your city, your nation and the world? What is your vision of your role in these?

However, it’s not enough to just have a vision, we need to act on it. How do we act on it?

Scripture tells us that God had created man in His likeness [Genesis 1:26]. This does not simply mean that God created man to look like Him, but much more that man was created to function like God. How did God function? Through faith. He calls things that are not as though they were. Most of us associate faith with “having faith in some one”. But no, faith is much more than just that, faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Before something comes into being, God knows it will be. That’s just how God operates!

That brings us to another part that affects the course of our WHOLE body: the tongue

If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his WHOLE body in check. [James 3:2]

God not only carries a clear vision for His plans, but He also uses His mouth to speak them into existence. When God brought Ezekiel before a valley of dry bones, He had a clear vision of what He wanted…an army out of those dry bones. And then He commands Ezekiel, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!…”

As children of God, we are to operate like our Abba, and that is in faith. We must have eyes with single vision and a tongue that speaks the vision into existence.

For example, a while back some of us gathered together to pray for the unsaved ones in our families. We started by gathering all of God’s promises for our families, and after we developed a clear vision of what God purposed to do in our families, we started speaking those words over our families. Have we seen any change? Very little. However, we are assured that we will see the vision come to pass.

Have a single vision, speak the vision and see it come to pass.

In everything…

By PJ Sorensen at Signs and Wonders

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Notice that this scripture instructs us to give thanks in all things, not for all things. When tragedy or temptation strikes, we are not to thank God for them. He is not their author. He’s the One who provides our way of escape from them. And that’s what we’re to thank Him for.

If you read the four Gospels, you’ll find that Yeshua/Jesus never gave thanks for sickness or death. Instead, when He encountered them, His response was to overcome them by God’s power. So give thanks as Yeshua/Jesus gave thanks– not for ha`satan’s/satan’s activities but for the victory G-d has given you over them

Intimacy with the Spirit

Part II (for Part I, click here)

By PJ SorensenI did not expect the relationship to grow so deep……but it has. I’ve loved Him for 35 years……and He’s MISHPACHA (FAMILY). He’s my greatest love. He’s my dearest friend. He’s my closest confident. He’s the smartest teacher. He’s the most loving and kind entity I have ever known…….and I would rather die than live one second without His love. One might say……I am addicted….and one might say……I am in love…..and one might say….it’s beyond the realm of understanding……..and in all three instances, I would agree.

The things Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit have revealed to me in the past 35 years are beyond explanation. He knows everything. He reveals things that go far beyond my limited understanding. Example: I was reading the scripture one day and began to ask Him for an understanding of the love of G-d for me alone. Suddenly I was hit by this intense squeezing pressure that was complete ecstasy but I had to tell Him to stop because I thought I would die any second. He told me that was but ONE DROP of Yeshua’s love for me alone. And suddenly I began to understand what mere words could not teach…that every human that had ever lived, was living or would live all together could not handle all the love Yeshua has to give. We truly do not understand how great our G-d is.

In my walk with Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit, I have seen the sick healed, the lame walk, the blind see, captives set free, the dead raised. Twice He has raised the dead in response to my simple and childlike requests. But only the love of G-d shed abroad in my heart moved Him to do so.

To have an intimate relationship with Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit takes faithful work. It takes consistency and obedience. It takes love.

When a person tells me they wish to build a relationship with Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit, my response is not usually well-received because it means work. My answer is to dig into the Word and spend more time in prayer. When a person does that, he/she shows himself/herself approved. The L-rd begins to trust us when we become trustworthy. This is why people who give up and unfaithful people start getting left behind. They don’t understand because they think it’s easy. But the truth is…..there’s a lot of work and a lot of time and a lot of years behind my relationship with Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit. There have been times I’ve had to believe Him against all foes with no one but Him to stand beside me. And I have learned to remain faithful and tenacious even when everything seems to go wrong. That is very difficult and many people fall because things don’t go their way.

How committed am I to Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit? I gave Him not only my past and my present…….but I’ve already given Him my forever. I love Him so much that I have given all I was, all I am and all I shall ever be forever to Him. His response to me was “PJ, that’s how marriage is. I gave Myself for you…..now you give yourself for Me…..” Then as He began to reveal……I saw it was Him breathing out and me breathing in and me breathing out and Him breathing in……a covenant relationship…..dancing…..operating in unison….a circle of chaim/life.

This is not a walk for the weak, selfish, lazy, or faithless person. It’s a walk for a dead to self person. You cannot commit yourself to G-d totally and be alive to your own ambitions. People who are alive to their own ambitions are jealous, angry, venomous, full of hatred and cannot agree nor understand a person who actually walks in the power of Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit. Some people want to be right more than to have Him in their lives. But when you get to know Him, you will find that He is moved by purity of heart and love…..operating His Word.

P`yilut Hashaliachim/Acts 19:2-6 says, “He said unto them, Have ye received the Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto Yochanan’s/John’s baptism. Then said Saul/Paul, Yochanan/John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Moshiach Yeshua/Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of HaShem Yeshua/the L-rd Jesus. And when Saul/Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.”

Perhaps you are like these people and have never even heard there’s a Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit to receive. If so…….then today is your day to receive. Ur/Luke 11:13 says “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children; how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”

Heavenly Father, I come to You b`shem Yeshua/in the Name of Jesus. I ask You today to fill me with the Rauch Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit. Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit, I ask You to rise up within me as I praise G-d. I fully expect to speak with other tongues as You give me the utterance as is written in P`yilut Hashaliachim/Acts 2:4. B`shem Yeshua/in the Name of Jesus. Amen!

Begin to praise G-d for filling you with the Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit. Speak those words and syllables you receive—–not in your own language, but the language given to you by the Ruach Ha`Kodesh/Holy Spirit.

You have to use your own voice. G-d will not force you to speak. Don’t be concerned with how it sounds. It is a heavenly language! Continue with the blessing G-d has given you and pray in the spirit every day. You’ll never be the same!
